I am always challenged when it comes to deciding on which new cigars to bring into the store each month to keep the selection fresh. I always listen to customers and compile a mental note on what cigars/pipe tobacco customers would like to try with the following considerations: 1. Will the cigar/pipe tobacco sell or will I be stuck with it? 2. What is the cigar's value proposition as compared to it's peer group given it's price point? I usually need a compelling reason to carry the cigar so I can justify to a customer that it is a good cigar and worth trying. I believe our store is only as good as the last cigar we sell the customer. If the cigar tastes bad, then the customer may or may not give us another chance. 3. Is it a new blend or is it tried and true? 4. Cost/price point (Relative to other cigars we carry in the store) and lead time to bring it in. So.... any ideas on what I should bring in this month? Let me know - your feedback is always welcome. Thanks in advance! Steve. |
